Visit Assisi and Orvieto from Rome in a limo! Umbria is called the "green hearth of Italy" and tourists in Rome can easily spend a day visiting it. Our English speaking driver will take you from Rome to Orvieto, about 90 minutes from Rome, to begin the tour. Don't think that the drive to Orvieto it's just a transfer. It's interesting in itself. Orvieto lies on a volcanic tuff rock and the most important sights are Orvieto's Duomo and the Pozzo di S. Patrizio, a well built because of Orvieto's lack of water in case of a siege. You can walk down to the bottom of the well if you wish.
After the visit to Orvieto our driver will take you to Assisi, on Mount Subasio, in the province of Perugia. St. Francis of Assisi was born in Assisi and there he founded the Franciscan religious order. In Assisi you may admire the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi with paintings by Cimabue and Giotto and the Basilica of St. Clare.
Leaving Assisi at about 5:00pm and back to Rome.
